So, what am I doing in Haiti? I’m here on the behalf of the Harding University Global Outreach Ministry. Each summer students travel all over the world to participate in mission trips. The mission experiences last from a week up to the whole summer. I joined the Haiti mission to document their work. It was a unique group of engineers, an interior designer and counselors. We all lived, traveled and worked together but served in very different ways. I’ll get into more details of the specific ways we work with the Haitian brothers and sisters in posts to come.
I arrived a few days after the rest of the group so my first full day was spent with the group riding around to different historical sights. It was very insightful to learn a little more about Haiti’s history and culture before spending the week with these wonderful people.
