[day 365]
Well. I made it. I have finally completed my Year27 project. I have successfully picked up my camera and captured something worth sharing every. single. day. of my 27th year. It took me a few tries to get here but I didn’t give up. I don’t think of the years past that I tried to do this project but stopped along the way for one reason or another as failures, just all a part of maturing.
Some may think I’d feel a huge sense of relief or accomplishment… I do, but only in a very small way. I mostly am just looking forward. Focusing on the growth continuing.
Out of all of the years to do this photo-a-day project, I am SO glad I chose this year. This blog has not been anything close to a journal but if it had it would reflect a life-changing year. I had an internal feeling this year would be something different. Not like a small feeling… but something I couldn’t explain even though I tried to at times. I tried to make sense of the feeling by assuming it would be great in the world’s eyes, like I would go far and do great things. But in reality, it was the biggest year for me internally way more than externally.
I am eternally grateful for my 27th year. I thank God for His presence in my life. No matter what happens in life (good or bad) we always have the choice to grow forward or go backward. I want to always choose to grow. This year has only proven to me even more that God is faithful and I have full confidence in His presence in my life forever.
So, do I feel a huge sense of relief and accomplishment? Uh… Yes, but only in a very small way. I mostly am just looking forward. Focusing on the growth continuing.
Now, for my last day being 27, I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Stephanie and I hiked up to one of my new favorite Arkansas points. It was a bit rainy out, but we didn’t care. We had a blast and, of course, made many memories. Steph quickly became one of the biggest blessings of my year when I met her at the beginning of the summer and she hasn’t quit being a blessing. I thank God for placing such a Spirit-led best friend in my life.
BIG THANKS to Steph, as well, for the impromptu photoshoot on the top of the mountain.
