[day 1034]
A little over a month ago I was asked to join a Health Talents International team of health providers on their trip to Guatemala. Health Talents is a non-profit doing wonderful things in Guatemala in the health arena. They send about 12 teams of volunteer surgeons, nurses and health care providers throughout the year to serve in a clinic along side the year-around Guatemalan crew. I was asked to join and document one of their surgery weeks. I have been on countless short term mission efforts over the years but this was my first medical mission. So for the next week, I’ll be sharing the experience with you through photos (obviously).
Today was a travel day. We all met up at the airport in Guatemala and then bused to the clinic a couple of hours away. Then it was time to unpack and organize allllll of the medical supplies everyone brought while a perfect welcoming meal was being prepared. Oh, and the docs got right to work seeing patients and prepping for the surgeries that will start right after church tomorrow morning.
