[day 1035]
Started this beautiful Sunday morning in Guatemala with a cup of coffee and some warm sunshine before walking to church (across the street). Also, as you will see, scrubs are the outfit of choice here… even for church. 🙂 Right after church, it was time to get into surgery. I was fascinated by the whole thing. I had no idea what to expect so I was ready to just soak it all up. I didn’t want to jump into shooting a TON until I got a feel for it all. Plus I wanted to give everyone some time to get comfortable around this stranger with two cameras strapped to her body at all times. The majority of the team had done this trip multiple times so it was like a well-oiled machine so I knew it would take a little time to slip into their rhythm without being too disruptive. But this type of documenting is right down my alley. I love just letting time pass and observing because soon I’d be able to be a part enough that me being around with a camera was just part of whatever else was going on and THAT is when real moments are captured.

Enjoy.
